Happy Holidays! Unfortunately, the holidays tend to stir up memories of tragedies, anxiety, depression, loneliness and irritability. Trauma-versaries, triggers, missing loved ones who have crossed over, health issues, packed schedules & disappointments are exacerbated when juxtaposed to the expectations of the season leading to greater emotional reactivity. With all the commotion and emotion going on it is very easy to become distracted from our True Self and get caught up in the ego loving "stress". Know you are in the majority if you are feeling less than "joyful" this time of year. Know also that there are many ways to re-polarize yourself back to positive or neutral mind states if that is what you desire. While having a glass of wine is fast & effective in the moment, it comes with long term side effects that are detrimental to our health. On the path of awakening & expanding consciousness we need to consider where our bliss comes from, outside in or inside out. Naturally, the fastest & most effective inside out method for polarizing is through pranayam or breath work. We can quickly realign our electric and magnetic fields, active glandular release of endorphins and enter a neutral mind state with pranayam. Once in the neutral mind state is it much easier to choose emotions like happiness and gratitude no matter the circumstances. I'm sure you have noticed that your painful experiences come with great blessings of growth that have guided your development & helped you shape you into the unique person you are today. We can polarize our emotional state to gratitude by also choosing thoughts that remind us of the personal growth that resulted from the experience. I pray you have to courage to find the blessings in your painful experiences and then share the wisdom you gained with others.
